Modular Homes FAQ

Here are some of the common questions we get about modular homes:

Isn’t a modular home just a mobile home?
No! Modulars conform to the same state and local building codes as site-built homes, and are also subject to the same zoning regulations, and are finances, insured and appraised the same as “regular” homes. A mobile home come with a title like an automobile, and do not have to meet site-specific regulations.

Are there any advantages to going modular?
Modular homes are able to be more quickly constructed than traditional homes. Many manufacturers offer factory-direct savings, they are energy efficient and the homes are customized to your desires.

Can I really customize my home?
Yes! If you have a plan, you can take them to the builder or find plans of the house you want.

How are the homes delivered to the site?
Most builders deliver the homes by truck. They are transported by modules, or the sections that make up the entire home. Most homes require two or more modules.

Will I be able to tell where the modules were connected?
A professional contractor will ensure you won’t be able to tell after the final finishing process.
